My place and yours

Every Monday I'll post a new theme for you to rack your brain with, take some photos then blog about it, when your done come back and add your link down the bottom so we can all have a sticky beak. Sounds good right?

My eye has been drawn to animal prints lately, I don't know if I need some in my wardrobe or somewhere in the house. So this week I want to know: Do you have any Animal print in your house?

nothing quite like

a toddler kiss.
I rarely ask Charlie to give me a kiss because this is what happens. I end up with snot and slobber all over my face. For some reason Charlie doesn't get that the kiss has to end, me laughing at him probably doesn't help.

Me just giving Charlie a small cheek kiss..

kissing me so hard he is trying to become part of my face, laughing while he does it.

Stop moving mum I don't want to kiss you on the cheek!

Just give in and take the slobber.

This week I've been looking at bags, this one is my staple everyday handbag that I fondly call my suitcase because it is huge and can fit snacks, drinks, nappies, wipes and all the junk I take with me everywhere.

So what sort of bag do you have? Handbag? Nappy Bag? Satchel?

Push~Numbers

This was not my first plan for PUSH but after a horrendous nights sleep, instead of making things this afternoon I chose to sleep.
So my plan B was to take photos of the boys being 1-6 in roman numerals, but Charlie did not want to play along. So instead here we have II (2) and V (5).

I love this one, James has his 'sunnies' on and Jack is laughing at Charlie who is sitting next to him trying to get him to move.

If you'd like to see something a little more interesting head over to Hello Owl and play along!

TREAT 'EM MEAN KEEP 'EM KEEN

This is what I feel like lately. The cleaning lady.
I feel like all I ever do is housework and organise everyone.
I have had my good wife pants on lately, but this week I say pfft to good wife, I'm opting for bad wife instead. You see it seems the nicer I am to my darling hubby and the more I do for him the more he expects of me and the more he leaves things for me to do. Isn't he kind? Like leaving his work clothes that need washing, randomly scattered around the house.  Plastic containers that he takes to work, left outside. His coffee cups, strewn around the yard. His plate so kindly left on the kitchen table for me to take to the sink.  You get the picture? Its a bad picture.
So this week I am treating him mean, leaving him to wash his own work clothes and make his own lunch. Maybe then he will take the bin out without me asking (nagging) a bazillion times. Or change a dirty nappy without me having to get him the child, nappy and wipes (seriously its not that big of a house).

Please tell me I am not the only one with a lazy husband!

So this week I want to know: Whats one thing you buy every time you food shop?

While I was thinking if this I thought ours would be yogurt. Until I realised the amount of cheese we seem to consume. The boys take cheese to school/Kindy. Michael eats it like its going to run out. And cheese and Vegemite sandwiches are very popular.

I'd like to thank Dani from Just The Three Of Us for being the only one who played last week, thanks hun you rock. As for the rest of you get snapping!

New Recipe Saturday

This is my new recipe for the week, I made this for Michael's lunches and by the sounds of it he liked it. It was meant to be quiche, but I had too much ingredients and my dish was too small so its more of a spinach pie. Oh well.

Ingredients:
A 250gm packet of frozen spinach.
4 rashers of bacon (rind removed.)
3 shallots
3 eggs
1tbsp cream
1 sheet of shortcrust pastry
salt and pepper

Method:
Fry the bacon, shallots and spinach until the bacon has some colour, set aside to cool. Whisk egg and cream together and add to the cooled mix with a generous helping of salt and pepper. If you have a bigger pie dish than I do maybe use a few more eggs. Line a pie dish with the pastry (I had no shortcrust so used puff instead, it still works) I'd suggest using baking paper as well so it will come out easily. Add mix to pie dish cook at 180 for around 45 minutes or until the middle is set and no longer wobbly (very technical cooking term). Serve with your favorite sauce.

If you'd like to see how to write a proper recipe and some nice pictures of food head over to see Rhi.

PUSH~JUMP

This weeks theme for PUSH is jump. We have a kick ass trampoline in our yard so where better to jump?

If I'd thought about it I probably would have put a nicer outfit on. Sorry about that.

Of course once I was on the trampoline everyone else wanted to join in. Its not often your mum gets on the tramp with you.

Now this isn't really pushing my own photographic skills, but Jack Jacks. Not bad for a six year old I say. Considering I don't think I have ever let him hold my camera before in his life!

You really have to have a go it is a hilariously fun thing to do.
Go over to Hello Owl to see how everyone else jumped!

Nerd love

Here is my nerdy kid.
I snapped this of him this morning and he didn't even realise I was standing there.
While the rest of us were trying to get ready for the day and leave the house on time Jack was reading a book in the tiny spot of sun that's in our lounge room in the morning. On the floor are his shoes which I'd asked him to put on, about half an hour beforehand.
A while ago I was getting a bit sad and angry because he was having some trouble with the kids at school not wanting to play in the playground with him. But today he informed me he and his friends go to the computer lab at lunch time.
I love that at six he's already found nerdy friends.

Mothers day

Tumblr_kpyq7q5bph1qzpv2go1_500_large

Wouldn't it be nice to receive so much jewellery your box looked like this?
I had requested jewellery for mothers day but then I smashed up the car and we got a little busy. I know I'm getting some nice things from kindy and school from the boys but Michael's response when I asked him what beautiful things he was buying me for mothers day was a cranky face and three words, A new car. I can't really say anything to that now can I?
So let me live vicariously through you tell me what your getting/giving for mothers day?

PUSH~LOVE

Danielle is feeling loved up right now and wants us to share what we love in her fun new game called PUSH. which is about pushing your photographic skills. I obviously have no skills, but this is what I love today.

That Charlie is still small enough to leave the house in his PJs without making me feel like a bad mother.

Finding money in long grass.

Days at home just him and me.

The finally one of my children will eat baked beans.

The relationship between Charlie and Meow Meow. Even though Charlie loves Meow excessively Meow lets him, and his favorite spot to sleep lately is in Charlie's cot, and Charlie absolutly loves it.

So what do you love? If you want to play along head over to Hello Owl

Pins for Gok!

The lovely Danielle from Danimezza is giving away a signed autobiography of the amazing Gok Wan. All you need to do is take a photo of your favorite body part. Sounds easy enough yes?

Well when I read her post I thought, no way I'm entering this one. I love Gok and what he does for women's self esteem, and Danielle for being confident enough to show us what she looks like in her swimsuit, she's awe inspiring this one.
Then today I read Danielle from Hello Owl's post of her and her hubby getting naked in Cleo. As Danimezza  said, if she can do it I can certainly take a photo of my legs!

Like most women I'm not entirely happy with my body and there's a lot I'd change if I could, but one thing I am happy with is my pins, especially in these ridiculous shoes. I often get nice comments about my legs and I guess that helps too.

So if you love Gok Wan like I do you should take a photo of your favorite body part and head on over to see Danielle and enter!

While we were on our very long holiday I missed my bed terribly, so this weeks theme is What's on your bed?

Not surprisingly our bed is covered in pink. Poor Michael

Worst easter ever

Its been a whole week since I smashed our new car.

We all walked away with just a few bruises and I know we are so lucky for that.

I was trying to exit the motorway and instead of a nice long exit ramp I found a sharp left hand turn and we ended up in a guard rail on the wrong side of the road. Thankfully the boys were all asleep and only woke up when we stopped. It was defiantly the scariest thing that's ever happened to me, driving towards a guard rail across a concrete island after the brakes had locked up there was a few seconds where I could see it coming and knew there was nothing I could do.

What used to be the front of my car.

The reason I struggled to open my door.

The cause of the burn on my left arm, the airbag opening.

Do you see why Michael had such a headache?

So now were home with a hire car waiting on insurance and trying to decide on new car seats, what a week it's been!
