Unsupervised small people, and why it goes wrong.

On rare occasions during the day my darling William is happy and I will leave him to play on his play mat while I get some washing on, or change sheets, sometimes I even go to the toilet all by myself! It's rare but it does happen.
When I return sometimes he is still happy, sometimes there is a big brother talking to him or showing him something and then there are the days that I return to a screaming baby.
When this happens conversations like this happen.

Me: Why is William crying?
James: I accidentally stepped on his face, but I said sorry!

Me: What happened to Bubba Will?
Charlie: Uh naughty Charlie uh-oh Bubba Will, bang!

That's why the youngest child is spoilt, they get a hard time for such a long time before they learnt to fight back. Heaven help me when he learns to fight back.

Outfit Help

Its no secret I've been a bit of shopping maniac lately. Maniac is probably putting it lightly.
I've bought a few shirts that are breast feeding friendly but I'm just not one hundred percent sure I love how they look. Since I've had all my hair chopped off I feel the need to dress a little more funky and a little more girly. I never knew how much I would miss my girly hair even when it was just a mop on top of my head.
Anyway now I have this shirt and I don't know. Belt or no belt? And is it too short to wear with leggins?
Tell me what you think.

Option one: No belt.

Option Two: Belted.

Now I guess the real question is, does it really matter what I'm wearing apart from this baby? I don't think anyone is paying any attention to what I'm wearing underneath. If you saw this lady walking would you see the baby or would you be thinking 'geez she should really wear a belt with that shirt' No? I didn't think so either.

Rocking the baby Bjorn

Rocking the Baba sling.

Sad faced bubba Will was not impressed I was putting him down and putting him in both carriers but we weren't going anywhere. One day in the near future he'll be too big and heavy for me to carry him and he'll be happy to hang out in the pram with his big brother and I'll be able to wear necklaces again and wear my clothes properly but I guess until then I'll be wearing him instead of my favourite belt.

School Lunch Love

When Jack started school I had a four month old baby Charlie and I was fairly time poor. I sent him to school with bought snacks, some fruit and a sandwich. It got expensive and boring real quick so I started making slices and cakes for school lunches. Awesome right?
James is only in his second term of prep so he's still happy with the funky shaped sandwiches and a cupcake, but my Jack Jack is a different story. He is a machine when it comes to food and for a while he was scoffing everything, but now he's over it and everything I make comes home without much love given to it.
So I'm cracking out a few new recipes to try to entice my big boy back to yummy home made snacks.

Banana and rolled oat muffins

Pizza scrolls

They look pretty good and nothing to exciting just Pizza Scrolls and a yummy Banana Rolled Out Muffin

Do your kids like home made snacks? Whats a favourite lunch recipe in your house? Help me out here!

Walk the Walk

On Friday I went back to bed at 7am after feeding the baby, making breakfasts and school lunches, and left Michael in charge of getting the kids to school and I slept til 9am (9am people! Amazing!) So by the time we picked up the boys from school I was ready to get out of the house, so off to the beach we went.
Now to drive to the beach takes us 2 minutes, and the little hills don't seem so big. But standing at the bottom of them it is totally different.

Jackster rode his bike and he did pretty well, not long after this he started walking, it was a steep hill.

Charlie loves his 'tootah' but doesn't ride it, it's far more fun to push it and walk along beside it.

Hi Jack!

William not impressed he was in the pram instead of on me. Sorry Will!

Michael tried to convince Charlie to let him hold Charlies 'tootah' up the hill. I could hear him from here, 'no I ride my tootah!' I've no idea why he is so stubborn, it definatly didn't come from me.  (Ha!..)

It was cold and looked like rain but it was totally worth it.

Strike a pose.

Last week was school photo day.
Before school the boys asked me to take a picture of them together in their new white shirts. Probably a good idea as James came home with a greenish shirt thanks to some rogue playdoh.
Charlie of course had to be in the photo, I dont know where he gets it from.

Not only did he have to be in the photo, he pushed the big boys out of the way. It's all about Charlie.

I don't know why I haven't got phone calls from model agencies. They really are target catalogue material.

Strike a pose.

Brotherly Love

Its no secret that my Jack did not want to be a big brother again. I doubt he would have ever asked to be a brother. He would have been a very good only child. He likes his own things in his own space and isn't a big fan of having to wait for his brothers. Ever.

But for now while William is still small Jack often asks if he can have a cuddle or hold him and sometimes William gives him the biggest smiles of all. Jack might not like being a brother, but his brothers sure like him.

4 Months

My baby boy, can't believe he's 4 months old already.
Somehow this month has been a worse month for sleeping than last month, I'm hoping it was just a wonder week or two close together and things will get better. He's been feeding every 1-2 hours over night and unless he's in the carrier and I'm walking he is awake and ninety percent of the time he is feeding. He still has no routine and even after a full formula feed of a night time he only sleeps for an hour. Before I lose all my hair and the bags under my eyes reach my chin I have to get him into some sort of routine.
Lucky he's adorable.

Love that cheeky monkey smile and little chuckle that goes along with it. Gorgeous boy.

See his 3 month photos here.

My husband bought me a robot

Yesterday morning when I took the kids to school I had this baby going.

The closest thing I'm going to get to having my very own maid. Yep this bad boy is a robotic vacuum . For those of you who have seen the state of my floors or met my children you will know this is a little piece of heaven in a box.
This bad boy vacuums in places even I don't, and after 25 minutes it finds its recharging dock so it can charge up and start all over again and tells you when there is a problem like when it ran over a baby sock it told me to clean the brushing arm, how awesome is that?! I had it clean under the boys beds when we left the house and I had the washing machine on, the dishwasher on, the dryer on and the slow cooker on.
Now my life should be easier and my house spotless right?

I said should not will.

If you'd like to read a proper post that doesn't involve my amazing domestic goddess abilities I'm a guest over here today.

Buyers Regret

Since my gorgeous non-sleeping son William was born my hair has been falling out. That's an understatement, my hair is half as thick as it was before because the rest of it is in clumps all over our house.
I haven't had a haircut in over 18 months and it showed, it was in terrible condition, so I had a lot of catching up to do, and I did, all at once.

We got home from the hairdresser and I felt like Winona Ryder on Little Women when she sells her hair. I hated it, it looked like a middle aged woman's haircut and I felt like I'd lost a piece of myself.

Today when I woke up I still hated it but after a shower and some product I fiddled with it enough to like it. I'm looking forward to it growing a little bit longer and being able to do a bit more with it. For now I have to remind myself its just hair, and it will grow back. Eventually.

Jackster

Jacks birthday seems like forever ago. It was really, it was before Easter, that was forever ago.
Anyway we put off his party until school went back so all his friends could come along.
That didn't work so well. Jack is that kid in class who is friends with everyone but not any ones best friend.
He spends most of his life with his head in the clouds or in a book.
So my attempt at getting him friends was to invite 20 kids, 5 or so RSVP'ed that they couldn't make it sport, music, dancing, that kind of stuff. A few didn't RSVP at all, and a whole heap said they'd love to come.
Winning as far as I was concerned.
The party started at 3.30pm by 4.15pm four kids had turned up. Two of which live in our street.
I felt so bad for Jack even though he was having a great time with the few kids that were there I was so disappointed. After the hours of preparation and cooking I did we had so much left over cake there is still cake in the freezer.

Lego bricks cake, I wanted to make him a lego head cake but I had a cake disaster and wasn't ready to do it all over again.

Cupcakes ~ Lego style.

Mars bar slice, also Lego style.

Space all ready to go in the traditional Lego colours red, yellow and blue.

Birthday boy in his Lego shirt. I was so organised!

Even the jumping castle was the right colour.

Pin the spot on the Lego.

Happy Birthday to my big boy. It might not have been the party I wanted to throw for you but for days after you kept thanking me for throwing you an awesome party so that made it all worth while.

Beach Love

This is one of the big things I love about where we live.
There is always beach towels in my car and sand in my washing.
It takes longer to get the boys in their car seats than it takes to drive to our local beach.

And on a quiet afternoon at home if Michael says lets go for a walk on the beach we can go put our feet in the water and breath in the salty goodness while the boys wear themselves out finding shells and going just a little bit further into the water.
But we can still be home in time for dinner.
