Worst easter ever

Its been a whole week since I smashed our new car.

We all walked away with just a few bruises and I know we are so lucky for that.

I was trying to exit the motorway and instead of a nice long exit ramp I found a sharp left hand turn and we ended up in a guard rail on the wrong side of the road. Thankfully the boys were all asleep and only woke up when we stopped. It was defiantly the scariest thing that's ever happened to me, driving towards a guard rail across a concrete island after the brakes had locked up there was a few seconds where I could see it coming and knew there was nothing I could do.

What used to be the front of my car.

The reason I struggled to open my door.

The cause of the burn on my left arm, the airbag opening.

Do you see why Michael had such a headache?

So now were home with a hire car waiting on insurance and trying to decide on new car seats, what a week it's been!

Holiday snapshot

My plan for today was to blog about our horrendous weekend. But I can't do it. I think after I see our smashed up car I might be able to but for now I'm still proccessing.
Instead lets all have a little look at the fun holiday we've had, much nicer thing to blog about.

Michael and the boys hanging out with Peter Brock at Mt Panorama

Jack and James after they won at Mt Panorama

Dodgy photo no one is looking, but the best of the lot. Uncle Dave and Aunty Isha with the big boys and Michael. Morning tea at Luna park.

James and his buddy on the kiddy rides.

Love this photo. Jacks face is classic.

My beautiful friend Emily, with her long awaited budle Grace. She doesn't like me, everytime I had a cuddle she cried. She has to like me, she doesn't have a choice!

James space ranger.

My husband makes an attractive woman yes?

park time

Yesterday Michael and I took the kids to one of my favorite spots in town, our big park in the middle of town. Its Oranges version of Sydney's Hyde park, just smaller. we spent at least an hour there, such a nice spot with all the autumn leaves, we taught the boys to have a leaf fight, they could never do that where we live now. The duck pond is being renovated unfortunately so we had to feed the ducks over a fence, not very photo friendly but very laugh friendly James was trying to knock a duck out with a whole peice of bread.

Right in the middle is a huge rose garden and in the middle of that is a sun dial. Jack wanted to know how to read it, what it did, and can he have one?

Charlie was in a smiley mood, even though he s a snot monster at the moment.

My big boys who have decided no other shoes will cut it except their gumboots. Fashion statement extraordinaries.

If I have learnt anything from all the photographers I know, its take photos from above, makes for one chin not two. Is handy to know these sorts of things, yes?
We will definatly be going back before we leave.

nothing quite like...

...old friends.
On Saturday night I had a proper catch up with my school friends. I'm so glad that were still close and still tell each other secrets, when ever were together its just like we've never been apart.  I didn't realise how homesick I was until we got here. Miss these crazy girls.

Aww isn't this a nice photo

Now thats more natural

oh what a night!

On Tuesday we packed the kids up and everything except the kitchen sink and drove and drove and drove. I can't believe we've never done it before, I always thought driving would be longer, more expensive, and plain difficult, but it was such a good trip. We left at 8pm so after ONE movie we switched the DVD player off and told the kids it was sleep time. By 6am we were half way and the kids had no idea that mum and dad had been driving all night.
We found a fun park in Narrabri to stop for a snack. It was such a nice day I had to get my papparazi on!

Charlie running after the ball.

Nice fashion ensemble. Tracksuit pants and thongs.

Charlie on the swing, loving himself

The boys playing footy, they had such a good time.

Somewhere outside Gilgandra was this awesome Saturn. There is a whole series of them, I had to convince Jack that we couldn't turn around to see the rest of them! They were cool, but not that cool!

On the road again

Ok so this may be over exaggerating just a little. But it feels like this is how much I have washed and packed this week!
Two weeks in my cold cold home town requires singlets, socks, beanies, jumpers, trackies etc etc etc.
In sunny QLD we have not needed any of the above so I've been digging under the beds and buying new things and washing the lot. My lounge room and bedroom look like this picture. We have almost finished packing the car, so tonight after Michael gets home from work were feeding the kids and were out of here, look out cold country were coming!

Its a long road to....

It may of taken me a week but I have finally finished this post!
I wasn't lying when I said it was a long straight road.
This is Michael taking pics in the car, not much else to do with 3 sleeping kids. He gets very bored in the car if he's not driving, poor thing, was that sarcastic?

It wasn't a completely bad trip, no where near as bad as I was expecting. Charlie was really good until we got 10kms out of the next town he would crack it. Poor kid didnt know what was going on, his routine was completly out the window, luckily he is a pretty flexible kid, I guess being the youngest you have to be.

While we were there we took the boys out to Michael's favorite place, The Thompson river.

Michael has already started making plans to take the big boys back out, once he can drive again, for a camping trip, he's so homesick poor thing.

The boys love everything Michael loves, the outdoors, camping, statying up late looking for possums with their flashlights (their words not mine, way to much American TV) I'm quite happy for them to have a 'boys weekend' but Charlie gets to stay at home with mumma, just a little longer, then 'boys weekend' turns into 'mummys spa weekend' : )

The whole reason we went was for a funeral, a mum of one of Michael's school mates. I didn't want to take the kids because they can be a bit noisy. So while dad was at the funeral the kids and I did the tourist thing and took photos of the The Stockmans Hall of Fame  and the important stockman out the front. It's quite pretty really, not at all what you would expect from Longreach.

A short break in transmission.

This is what I'm in for tomorrow, were off to Michael's home town. It's in the middle of Queensland (which means the middle of nowhere) its called Longreach, population about 3000 (on a good day)
I will attempt to take some decent pics and will fill you in on the 'exciting journey' when we get back. I am so over joyed to be driving all the way out there and all the way back on Monday(Only 12 months til Michael can drive again) I am an awesome wife, and yes I will be reminding him that the entire way : )
