Road Trip!

A few weeks ago we packed up the kids and basically all our possessions and headed off to my hometown, a short 20 hour drive away for a gorgeous friends wedding and a long overdue catch up with everyone, before we made it back home we went via Suger's 30th and a few days with the boys Granny and Grandad. We were gone a total of 12 days but we packed a whole bunch in!
Starting here......

This boy, 3 is such a full on age. equally adorable and devilish.

We took the boys around the track in my tarago, yep kicking it at a full 60kms an hour!

My girlfriends from home, apart from the bride and the maid of honour, we of course didn't get a photo of all of us together. Hopeless. Also when will I find a friend that is taller than me? I am always the tall one!

My wedding favour, those jelly beans are jelly belly, and freaking delish!

On the way back north we went via Wisemans ferry, the biggest kid loves going across the car ferry. It's a gorgeous part of the world that's for sure.

I seriously love these photo props, hilarious!
In case you love them as much as me we were here

The boys checking out the old school, it was tiny and would have been so freaking cold in the winter, you know I gave the boys a talk about how lucky they are. Yep I've turned into an old person.

We took the two big boys here when James was one, it was nice to bring them here as older kids and explain things to them, they are such a good age where everything is exciting and interesting, without jaded eyes.

Yep that's my kid rocking out driving the carriage.

Steam train!

What else do you do on holiday? You play with animals that could kill you! That's my Charlie holding a crocodile.

You see that face? Loved it, won't go near a dog but will play with scary things.

For such a busy trip I'm glad we managed to fit in a few fun things for the boys, there was a lot of car trips a lot of boring mum and dad things but enough fun stuff to keep them going.

Just before we left to make it the rest of the trip home we ditched the kids with their Grandparents for the night and went and partied with a heap of bloggers and hang out with Suger for her neon birthday bash. Was so nice to see her after almost two years and meet some gorgeous ladies, we laughed so hard and took some hilarious photos before this pregnant lady drove a few party goers to the pub and danced my feet to sleep!

That was our trip, 5001.8kms. When we walked in the front door I almost didn't recognise our house, we'd seen so much in such a short time.
Thankfully we had two weeks of school holidays to get over it. Next time we go home we'll have an extra babe!

nothing quite like...

...old friends.
On Saturday night I had a proper catch up with my school friends. I'm so glad that were still close and still tell each other secrets, when ever were together its just like we've never been apart.  I didn't realise how homesick I was until we got here. Miss these crazy girls.

Aww isn't this a nice photo

Now thats more natural

What a week!

While we were in Longreach watching our friends get married we also became godparents for the first time and helped host a 4th birthday party. Yep we were busy.
I feel oh so special that Michael and I got to be godparents at the same time. Now even though I am a parent already when someone picks you to be a parent (of sorts) its far more special. Well it is to me anyway.

I'd like to introduce you to Sam aka Sambo, Samwich, Samuel. He just turned 4, when his mum and I were pregnant we were due within 2 weeks of each other. Our boys birth dates are almost a month apart. He is a clever little man who is big brother to...

the beautiful Benjamin. He's 7 months old and absolutely gorgeous. The only time I heard him cry the whole time we were there was when Charlie tried to feed him, give him drinks and toys. Charlie is called bull bar for a reason!

I'm taking my godmother role pretty seriously, the first thing I asked for was something deep fried and covered in chocolate.

Wedding love

On Saturday the boys and I were lucky enough to head to the beach to watch our friends get married at a resort, what a good way to get married! Next time we get married I'm defiantly looking into resort weddings.

The big boys in their wedding clothes, even though they only came to the ceremony I still wanted them to look nice.

The bride and groom saying their vows. I love weddings.

The beautiful bride as they left the chapel, she looked stunning.

Our little man who ended up with a gash on his head after rolling down a hill and hitting his head on a garden bed edge then falling down some stairs. Note to self, double check your husband has packed the pram before you leave home.

Michael and I, I wish I'd gotten a better photo of my dress, I love it.

Jack and I hanginh out in our room between the ceremony and the reception. The kids went to the kids club at the resort I think there was only three kids left at the wedding and they were all tiny. Such a good idea, the boys wanted to go back the next morning, well worth paying $45 for each child to go.

You can dress them up...

....But at the end of the night your still married to a bogan.

Drained...

This is how I spent my weekend. Not literally fighting with girls just in the wonderful world of the internet.

I found out some mums from my playgroup were talking behind my back about Michael and I, and about another friend. I'm 26 not 16. I don't like the fighting I dont like the gossiping I just wanted somewhere to go and meet some mums hang out and let the kids play. Its hard enough being so far from friends and family without this extra drama, I have since talked with the girl I was having words with and we've sort of talked it out. I still dont trust her and don't want to have anything to do with her, but at least now everyone thinks its all ok and we can move on. I'll be keeping my mouth shut from now on.

I feel sad annoyed, cranky and drained. Michaels cranky from being dragged into it(he doesn't like gossip) so all in all a bad weekend for all of us.
So now I'm on the hunt for some grown up mummas to have play dates with!
Wish me luck!

Friends From Far Far Away

On Thursday we had our 1st visitors from home that weren't family, do you think I was excited? Yep you could say that!
Emily and Jim, who are travelling around the country before heading back to Orange to build a house (and hopefully start having babies) and getting on with the boring mundane normal parts of life, made a stop over to see us on their way from Cape York to Orange.
Emily and I used to be Party Girls/BnS Girls/Wild Girls, we also lived together and lived out of each others pockets, until I met Michael, but that's another story completely!
I was Maid of Honor at Em and Jim's wedding, and she helped me pick out my wedding dress, do you get how close we are??
We looked through old photos album's and reminisced about before we were married and were still crazy girls, had cups of tea together and caught up the way you only can in person, its just not the same on the phone. The men in our lives occupied each other and the kids were just happy to have people to show off to, they both have know Emily and Jim their whole lives and are comfortable with them, not everyone gets along so easily with our noisy boys.
This is us just before she walked down the aisle, I was so happy for her, I almost squeezed her to death every time I hugged her!
That's my country girl and her country boy. Such a suited couple, I can't wait for them to start having babies!
Emily and I busted by the photographer doing what we do best, having private jokes between the two of us, this is one of my favorite photo's from their wedding, you can tell were up to no good!
Its funny how quickly you slip back into the way things were after being apart for so long, thank heavens our husbands get along, and the four of us always end up having a bit of a laugh at each other, I wished we didnt live so far away!
Now we just need everyone else we know and love to visit us!
