Buyers Regret

Since my gorgeous non-sleeping son William was born my hair has been falling out. That's an understatement, my hair is half as thick as it was before because the rest of it is in clumps all over our house.
I haven't had a haircut in over 18 months and it showed, it was in terrible condition, so I had a lot of catching up to do, and I did, all at once.

We got home from the hairdresser and I felt like Winona Ryder on Little Women when she sells her hair. I hated it, it looked like a middle aged woman's haircut and I felt like I'd lost a piece of myself.

Today when I woke up I still hated it but after a shower and some product I fiddled with it enough to like it. I'm looking forward to it growing a little bit longer and being able to do a bit more with it. For now I have to remind myself its just hair, and it will grow back. Eventually.

  1. I think you look chic , though I'd feel the same if I chopped my long hair off.
    Been tempted lately.

    1. Thank you lovely! I feel a bit frumpy still but I WILL get used to it. I'd be a terrible hairdresser, I'd never have any hair!

  3. Oh I did the same thing!! I still kind of struggle with it, but I tell you what- it is so much easier! Plus, like you said- it will grow back. But I know what you mean about the 'Mum haircut' For what it's worth I think you look great!

    1. Oh the 'mum haircut' I thought we were meant to be 40 before we did it? I guess we have to try to make it look cool : )
for the record I like your cut and I don't think it looks like the mum haircut x

  4. Oh I remember that feeling first time mine was really short and I found out that no amount of ANYTHING could make it look like I'd imagined! [Also found out that with shorthair I looked like my dad - very scary] Its like a clean slate now - and its going to be super healthy! Plus, even you don't like it, you still look fantastic to us!

    1. So much easier! It took me 2 minutes to wash instead of 20!

  7. I'm sure it's not helping, but this makes me a little sad. I loved your long hair! You'll rock a short 'do while you've got it, and it will grow back (if that's what you decide you want!).

  8. Nothing to regret. You have the face to pull it off, for sure. Enjoy yourself styling it up. And heck, hair grows.

  10. Woah, I feel totally out of the loop that I missed this!! You crazy lady!

I've felt similar to how you feel- I regretted when I got my hair cut shorter (though nowhere near that short). It's taken time, but it's nearly back to where it was before! Like you say, it'll grow back! For now, just have fun and rock it!
