Polly Dolly

NYE
I'm trying very hard to try to be positive about our forced vacation. Tonight will be the first time in six years Michael and I will be able to get dressed up and go out drinking together. Either he has been away, we haven't been able to get a babysitter, I've been pregnant/breastfeeding. It hasn't bothered me really. But while were childless and semi homeless were going to attempt to live it up.
My poor hubby is so bored he just asked me if he could polly dolly with me. Then I had to explain to him how it works.
So Monday night we went to a wedding so we have our wedding appropriate outfits, except my shoes did not make it, so flats it is!
I couldn't find my actual dress but this is the closest I could get to it. Mine is a city chic frock black top and pink ruffles. Very fun.
I have limited make up and jewellery but I'll be cracking it all out!
Were staying in the one and only pub in Capella so at least once were done drinking and dancing I can stumble upstairs.
I would like to be at home watching the fireworks with my little men. Eating lots of snacks and playing games. I'm putting it on my list for next year.

If you haven't played along, like my hubby, head over to see the lovely Danielle and her Polly Dolly

jumpsuit

So when I read this weeks polly dolly I have to admit my mind went straight to S Club 7. I know how sad is that?
Anyway a few years ago (ok maybe like 10 or 15 years) I remember they did a film clip where one of the pretty blonde things wore this awesome jumpsuit and I wanted one. Badly. Unfortunately as I've always been a big girl a jumpsuit is really not for me, but if I was going to do it this is how I would. Extreme.
Can you see me walking down a red carpet in this? No me neither but it would defiantly make one of those best/worst dressed shows.
To play along with Danimezza and everyone else that loves a good jumpsuit head here.

Polly Dolly

animal
Dani's theme for this weeks polly dolly is Animal print.

I've only just thrown out my animal print ballet shoes after I wore them to death and they actually started falling apart.
When I was pregnant with James a favorite going out outfit of mine was a simple black shirt, black maternity pants my fav flat leopard print shoes, a fun belt (worn above the bump).
I couldn't go past this cute brooch that says I Love You, so sweet. A great headband for something different, mascara and lip gloss a must. Of course a big bag as I still had a toddler who still needed a truck load of stuff.
So to see how everyone else wears animal prints or to play along head over to Danimezza.

Polly Dolly

This week's polly dolly is perfect for me.
This weekend is our race day and as I am wife of 'El Presidento' (his words not mine) I sort of have to go.

Last time Michael and I went to the races it was Melbourne Cup Day 2004 (2nd Nov to be exact) and by the time we left I had an engagement ring. This time I will leave probably covered in dirt and food with three cranky tired kids. Oh and no husband as he will still be there well after dark cleaning up, organising things, counting the profits etc.
Racing
I know your thinking wheres the pink?!
Well as I have completely ran out of time to buy something new I had a dig through whats left in my wardrobe (I have been selling all the stuff I don't wear on eBay and have no party dresses left) I have a boring black dress that I am going to team with my newest fave cardigan which is not quite this colour but close enough. I'm going to paint my nails and toe nails this awesome metallic blue, have my big black heels on and loads of blue accessories, gorgeous hair flower to cover the fact I need a hair cut, I wont be wearing the sapphire and white gold earrings but I might be able to find something. Jean Paul Gaultier perfume (of course) and tinted lips and big Katie Price inspired eyelashes.

Polly Dolly

Is it just me or does playing Polly dolly with Dani make you want to shop? I have this desire to buy so much stuff on a Thursday! Lucky Thursday is pay day!

So this week is rainy days.

I love a rainy day but after a few days with no sunshine everyone gets cranky and sad so what better to cheer you up than a fun outfit matched with big jewellery and awesome rain gear. The only grown up woman shoes that can look like shoes for little girls and get away with it!

I chose a pretty simple outfit 3/4 length jeans and a plain coloured top, no jacket as it doesn't really get cold here when it rains. Beautiful headband to make any wet hair look good and some gorgeous bracelets that I want want want! Lips are the only make up I wear daily, I occasionally take time to put face powder, rouge and mascara on, but not on a rainy day. The gumboots are so cute and not 100% pink believe it or not! Love that umbrella, I had to stop myself from buying ridiculous gumboots and umbrellas for the boys while I was polyvoring!

Head over to Dani's to play along or check out everyone's rainy day creations.

After 12 weeks of Dani's polly dolly challenge I have never finished any in one sitting, today included!

So this week's theme is tea party.

I love the idea of having a high tea, with beautiful china, dainty snacks, elegant outfits, talking about glamorous things, not babies or vomit or washing.

I chose a pretty cardigan, pink of course, my idea of a beautiful tea party would be lots of pink frills and fluff.
Gorgeous high waisted skirt.
Love those shoes! They are even called tea party.
Funky tea party necklace and pearl studs.
Cumfy cushions to sit on one is even called fluff how perfect!

What would you were on a tropical holiday?

Our polly dolly theme from Danimezza this week is right up my ally. I've been plannng Michael's 30th and have started thinking about my own (still a few years away yet) and a holiday to a tropical island with just my hubby for a few days seems to keep popping back to the top of the list. We only had one holiday together before becoming parents and that was when we got engaged, in November that would be six years ago!

Cocktails by the pool, or in the pool, swimming, snorkelling, day spa-ing, afternoon naps, reading grown up books without interuption, staying out all night dancing, sleeping in, eating out at restaurants for as long as we like, drinking far too much champagne. Sigh. Four years and counting, come on 30!

I plan to be much thinner by the time I'm 30 so cute little white shorts wont look horrendous on me. Funky thongs that would be ok on the beach or strolling through the shops. Big hat and sunnies so we can pretend to be celebrities in disguise. Love love love this gorgeous top and a starry beach bag to be filled with my own things, no nappies wipes snacks or bottles, Ipod so I can listen to my grown up music with no wiggles songs interupting me. Loads of books that I might get a chance to read and finish before the holiday ends. Cocktails, lots and lots of cocktails. The bigger and more fun looking the better.
Thanks Danielle that was a nice disruption to my boring day!

Polly Dolly

As soon as I read Danimezza's polly dolly theme, create an outfit for ONE of the girls from SATC who you believe reflects your own sense of self and/or style, one look came straight to mind.

In series 6 when Charlotte and Harry lose a baby and she doesn't want to go to Brady's first birthday. She arrives in a beautiful Elizabeth Taylor inspired outfit. It is such a Charlotte moment and a perfect outfit for her.
I was always Charlotte, the hopeless romantic. In fact for the first six months after I met Michael he thought my name was Charlotte (sorry hun!) I'm probably a bit more practical like Miranda, and I admit I was definatly like Samantha for a few years while I was single!

I love this polly dolly I think its my favorite ever. Such a stunning dress, Monolo Blahnicks(of course), clutch purse, Chanel No.5 perfume, great sunglasses and a head band. If only I had the money and time and reason to wear such a beautiful outfit!
Thanks Danielle for such a fun way to spend a few hours xx

Polly Dolly

This week's theme over at Danimezza is christening/baptism.

Were very hopeless and have only had Jack baptised, need to do something about that and get the two little boys done soon, maybe when we go home in November I could get both done at the same time hmmm...

Anyway. What to wear, I've been wearing my cowboy boots a lot lately, (too chilly in the mornings to wear thongs to school) my boots are brown but I'm really liking the black, might have to invest in some black ones. A cute skirt to make the boots more feminine. I always feel like I need to cover up in church so a 'proper' shirt and cardigan because churches are always so cold.
Cute hair flower to make me look different to every day hair, big gold earrings(tiffany of course) and a cute bracelet. Lipgloss is a must for all the photos that get taken on the special day, camera for all the photos and a big bag to fit all the goods into!

Polly Dolly

Polly Dolly this week the lovely Dani is taking us to the movies. I need a trip to the movies.
I need a trip out of the house that doesn't involve going to school or to the supermarket.

My very fun outfit, a pretty dress to hide the belly after eating all that popcorn and maltesers, you must try popcorn and maltesers together, best snack ever.
Cardigan because its always cold in movie cinemas.
Stripper shoes because where else can you wear awesome shoes, out to dinner or somewhere you can sit. I love stripper shoes, I think I must have been a stripper in a former life, I definitely don't have the body for it now!
Lipgloss is a must after eating far to much salty popcorn, and of course you need a pretty bag to take with you.
Pillow, After carrying three kids for 41+ weeks, two of which were close to 10 pounds I get a sore back from everything including movie seats then I get a sore bum so a pillow to make the 90 minutes in the cinema much more enjoyable.

To play along or sneak a look at other peoples outfits go over to Danimezza

Polly Dolly

Well I know I've been very AWOL since the move. I have a slight problem, my camera which is my phone, can not connect to my laptop as I lost the install disc a long time ago(like 3 houses ago) so I cant upload any photos, which means my lovely husband needs to buy me a new camera (for those who don't remember this was meant to be my mothers day gift, last year!) so for now I'm stuck with no pics but I can play Polly Dolly with Dani.

So What do you wear while you blog?

I'm no where near as cool as Dani, and usually within 10 minutes of getting home from dropping Jack to school I have PJs on and no bra. It hasn't been cold enough here for jumpers or socks but it has gotten a little cool so long track pants and a 3/4 sleeve soft shirt is about all I need. My new eternity ring which is a little bit more realistic, and similar to what mine looks like.
Coffee in my very fun take away mug, Michael bought us a new coffee maker last week, it makes 10 cups, Michael's lucky to have two before work then I drink the rest!
I need glasses to read and do computer stuff, so last time I got new ones Michael told me to buy the most expensive ones in the shop so I did! They have transitions lenses so if I wear them all day (like I often do)   they turn into sunglasses with UV light. I just realised they were more expensive than my eternity ring!
My phone to take bad photos, yes I know 3 mega pixels on a mobile camera=bad photos, but I just keep putting off buying a new camera because there are more important thing to buy, like kids shoes and food, boring!
My new laptop, doesn't look exactly like this but you get the picture.
I try to blog while Charlie is having his morning nap which is after we've dropped Jack to school, this is James quiet time so I let him watch a movie, it's always either Lightening McQueen or Bolt. So I listen to Owen Wilson or John Travolta. Two very attractive men but after I have listened to them say the same thing a million times, I want to punch them both very hard in the face.

So play along over at Danimezza, go on you know you want to!

Dressy Daytime Jeans Where would you go and what would you wear?

This week's theme of Danielle's at Danimezza got me thinking about being young single and not someone's mumma, must be because mothers day is comng up, I always think what if, this time of year.

So where would I go? I would spend the day shopping in London. I'd love to spend 1 day by myself.
I love these semi casual jeans and I think with these very cool dusty pink boots they would be perfect. A simple belted shirt and very sweet coat. Sequined beanie(its pretty cold walking around London!) and pretty bag big enough to fit the nessesitys and any little treasures I'd find whilst shopping. Fav perfume as always.
Very big jewellery far out of my price range, and yes I'm boring you again with my $28,000 eternity ring. I have a feeling I have brought my lovely man around to my thinking. Bring on mothers day!
I love this pic of London double decker bus, can you jus imagine spending a day in the cold shopping and bussing around the place being a very good tourist? I can almost smell the cold.

Polly Dolly

Have been far to busy this week so am only doing blog games and not really blogging, which I don't love but hey next week I will be loving myself for having moved everything and unpacked so much.
Anyway this week with Danimezza were off on a picnic.

So what would you wear to a picnic?

I love going to park's for picnic's.
I picked soft linen pants I know completly crunkly as soon as you sit but who cares. A pretty pink top and cute pink shoes. I am always drawn to the pink version of everything but have been trying very hard to pull myself away, this week I'm not stopping myself and going a little bit pink mad, so I of course had to get the Lovely perfume by SJP, pink sunnies and of course pink cover on my ipod, I love to have tunes and Jack loves to play with the calculator(nerd)
I love this lemon printed cooler bag! We always take cooler bags with us to a picnic rather than a picnic basket everything stays cold then and its easier to fit in the pram.
You can't have a picnic without cake, and cupcakes are so easy to serve. I love coke out of a can and I'm hooked on coke zero at the moment. Just til we move I need a little extra pick me up. Well thats what I'm telling myself anyway.
I think once we have moved I might have to take the boys somewhere for a picnic. Thanks Dani for the great idea!

Polly Dolly

This week were off to the markets with Dani's polly dolly.

So What would you wear/take with you to the markets?

Well obviously I'd take my beautiful boys and the long list of things you need to take with you when you leave the house with kids.
Nappy bag, pram, drinks (Jack helped me do my polly dolly today so he picked this drink bottle it's got him name on it, obviously!), food, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, toys, hats.

For me a pretty summer dress, I love this green dress it has little strawberries on it, cute, and it doesn't show up the grubby hand prints or food spills that little boys leave on dresses when they give you cuddles.
My gorgeous eternity ring, in case you didn't see last week's eternity ring I'm wearing it again, although this one is $28,000 so we've gone up $6,000 maybe he should buy it for me before it gets any more expensive? Just a thought.
Sunnies, a must. Comfy shoes for the long trip around the markets, especially when I know I will be picking up kids to show them things, and give kisses on ouchies when little boys don't look where they are going and inevitably walk into someone or something.
Lipgloss and wallet full of correct change for all the fun things to buy. Toffee apples, fairy floss, second hand toys, fruit and vegetables, jams and pickles. I miss sunday markets!

Polly Dolly

What would you wear/take with you to a nail salon?

I love playing the polly dolly game over at Dani's, its so easy to max out your imaginary credit card!

So if I was off to get a mani/pedi what would I wear? Something pretty. I always feel frumpy and gross in the presence of a beauty therapist, they are always so made up and smell pretty, I know that's their job but I still do.

I picked this cute frilly top and 3/4 jeans, as Dani mentioned skirts are not a great idea or comfortable when you have someone holding your foot looking up your leg.

Some key jewelery pieces, my $22,000 eternity ring (hint hint), diamond studs and a $6,000 bangle, what you don't wear that sort of thing to the beauticians??
Also my favorite perfume, jean paul gaultier, after all I want to smell as pretty as the beautician.

While I was maxing out my imaginary credit card I figured I should get some fantastic shoes, open toe so not to smudge my toes obviously, they are so pretty, I would never wear them but I want them!

A big bag to fit all my junk including a water bottle and lip gloss. I don't like to take stuff to read I much rather chat with the beautician, probably why my old beautician from home is one of my facie friends.

I couldn't decide what colour I would like on my toes, I've had red toes for about 7 years, I know your saying what the pink girl has red toes really?? I can't seem to find any other colours that's quite as fun.

Thanks Dani I really enjoyed spending all that money, now I'm off to hassle my hubby into buying me an eternity ring : )

This weeks Polly Dolly theme over at Dani's is gym gear.
She's just recently joined a gym and is doing something good for her. She's inspired a lot of us to do something about our post-baby bodys as well.
Me not so much.
Michael and I sat down to a packet of choclate covered almonds last night and a packet of sour cream and onion chips and a bottle of ginger beer. Somehow when we got up this morning I was hungry! Can't be a good thing.

Anyway IF I was a gym junkie, this is the sort of outfit I would want.
I hate sneakers so these are Adidas probably not for working out, but they are so very cute. I used to do yoga so I had to pick this cute pink yoga towel.
I love this holdall bag, I wouldn't put anything yucky like gym clothes in it but maybe a towel and drink bottle would make it in there. I'm all about cute water bottles at the moment and old navy is such a fun brand. James has an old navy t-shirt that says welcome to old navy and everytime I put him in it he and Jack say it to each other if funny voices, can be very annoying but I know they are having fun.
I think if I was a runner or a gym junkie, I like to move it move it would definatly be a song on my Ipod. Everytime I hear it it reminds me of madagascar 2 and the crazy dance moves of the hippo. I love her the most, maybe being a gym junkie is not for me.

So danimezza has me hooked on something new. Just what I need.

Dani's theme for this week is Easter.

Easter for me means rugging up in coats and scarves, cups of tea, movies in front of the fire and eatting chocolate in bed. Unfortunatly as were in Queensland I wont be doing any of that this easter and I've got the air con on (Although I may still eat some chocolate in bed) I couldn't go past this pink watch, it is after all from Tiffany
Most importantly though Easter means Jack is another year older. (Sigh) On Monday my big boy will be 5.
5 years old, that scares the hell outta me, what scares me more is the fact he knows he's turning 5, what the day is, the date, what year it is, and I think he knows what he's getting as well, he has figured out how to put words together so no more S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G things to each other over dinner!
