Another Birthday!

My second babe is officially seven. Doesn't he rock a Charlie Chaplin mo' quite well?

We had his birthday party a few weeks after his birthday which meant he got two cakes and two lots of presents.Yep he has the birthday thing figured out!

I don't see James being a crowd follower. He has his own crazy ideas and no matter what you say or do he doesn't shy away from what he wants or believes in, I love that about this kid. The thing on the top of his list was a body pillow and he wanted a chocolate mint themed party. He's a one of a kind our James and I hope he never loses that.

So happy with his  body pillow.

His chocolate mint cake for his birthday. Brownies, ice cream and whipped cream.

For his party on Sunday it was raining, this poor kid has had one sunny birthday party his whole life. The joys of having your birthday during the wet season!

His party was pretty low key, cake, a lolly buffet and a few friends all inside. The lady who runs the lolly buffet company suggested the moustaches and I instantly saw cute photo opportunity, pity the rain kept us inside and by the time I remembered to take the photo the kids were done with partying, Jack is missing because he was busy having a tantrum in his room after losing a game of musical chairs, yep it was one of those days.

A spot of musical statues, pass the parcel and musical chairs, there's only so much you can do inside.

See those big jars? They are full of green frogs. Green frogs!I think I'm quite  in love with the lolly buffet idea. Don't be surprised to see more of these in our future!

My gorgeous boy, let's hope seven is good to you, love you to the moon and back again.

Big Willie!

For those of you I'm friends with on facebook, you've seen these pictures so nothing to see here, move along thanks.
Right for everyone else William had his first birthday earlier this month, James proclaimed 'He's got a number!' Because before if someone asked how old Will was James would say zero. Which to him was true, he had no number.

Having your birthday so close to Christmas makes for hard present buying, he got so much stuff for Christmas that there wasn't much left for his birthday. He obviously didn't mind a great deal and was quite happy to see clothes when he opened some of his pressies. Happy enough to give it all a little clap.

He spent all day sucking his lips in and drooling everywhere, between then and now he's popped out three more teeth, so no huge surprise.

I'm not sure where he got it from but he oohs and aahhhs at pretty much everything, It is ridiculously cute and  cracks me up how animated he gets about it.

The boys were trying to teach William to put one finger in the air and when you ask him how old he is, he didn't like the look of their game and did what he wanted, which as the youngest he will do forever and get away with, that's the job of youngest right?

Breakfast of champs for a one year old consists of french toast, loads of fresh fruit, cream and a honey drizzle.  Although he didn't get the honey drizzle (no honey til they are two) he still devoured it.

After breakfast a mini catwalk fashion show, new shoes require showing off.

First chocolate cake, just to make sure he is actually my son and he passed with flying colours. Couldn't take his eyes off it even for a quick photo. He wanted to stick those little fingers straight in itt.

He ate up his whole piece and wanted more. Yep he's definitely mine. A swim at the beach and early to bed and his day was done. So that's it, my baby is no longer, now a toddler in the making. His first year was full on and I'm guessing his second year will be as well, but much much more fun!

Happy Birthday baby boy!

Partying... Rainbow Style!

Yesterday we had Charlie's third birthday party. Still can't get over that he's three. Anyway.
We had a rainbow themed party, I made the mistake of searching pinterest for rainbows and rainbow parties. I had ideas coming out my ears! I went with a few I could do in advance or wouldn't be too hard like filling a glass gar with gum balls ans tying helium balloons to it. Cute and easy!

It was a hot day and perfect sunny skies for a party and the kids made the most of it. Between the jumping castle and the food they were pretty happy for a few hours.

Oranges as jelly cups, seriously where do some people get these ideas from?!

Fruit 'rainbow'

I'm pretty sure dad was in!

The magic of icy cups, most of them sat and ate them. Amazing. We had about eight kids, both our neighbours and a few of our close friends. It was only small but it was perfect for Charlie.

My biggest boy has been feeling a bit left out this week, James had a party to go to on Friday night and Charlie's birthday has been going on for weeks so to cheer him up we took selfies and I let him take some photos on my camera. Whatever works!

Happy Birthday to my big three year old!

Three!

Yesterday Charlie turned three. Three people. If he is anything like his big brothers this will be a good year. Three is when they get that their actions have consequences and they learn sympathy, and turn into little people rather than toddlers. Three is a good year.

Love that surprised face. We have taken that truck with us everywhere for two days now. It was a huge hit.

Being a Monday we had to take the big boys to school so to convince him to stop playing with his toys and actually eat his breakfast I tied balloons to his chair and called it his birthday chair. He thought it was the best thing ever and I think they might have to stay there forever.

Once we'd dropped the boys to school he wanted to go to the marina and look at the boats then go to the park for a play. I told him this slide is a big boy slide and now he's three he should go down it, so he did. There is no way I would have convinced him to do that a few months ago.
He did it about 20 times before we left.

After the park we headed for 'shushi' this is his new favourite lunch, fine with me I'd rather do that than take him for maccas.

After school we had Charlie the caterpillar cake. He has been hassling me for months to get this cake with his name on it. Now we've done it hopefully I can stop hearing about it.

Love this kid. Three!

Jackster

Jacks birthday seems like forever ago. It was really, it was before Easter, that was forever ago.
Anyway we put off his party until school went back so all his friends could come along.
That didn't work so well. Jack is that kid in class who is friends with everyone but not any ones best friend.
He spends most of his life with his head in the clouds or in a book.
So my attempt at getting him friends was to invite 20 kids, 5 or so RSVP'ed that they couldn't make it sport, music, dancing, that kind of stuff. A few didn't RSVP at all, and a whole heap said they'd love to come.
Winning as far as I was concerned.
The party started at 3.30pm by 4.15pm four kids had turned up. Two of which live in our street.
I felt so bad for Jack even though he was having a great time with the few kids that were there I was so disappointed. After the hours of preparation and cooking I did we had so much left over cake there is still cake in the freezer.

Lego bricks cake, I wanted to make him a lego head cake but I had a cake disaster and wasn't ready to do it all over again.

Cupcakes ~ Lego style.

Mars bar slice, also Lego style.

Space all ready to go in the traditional Lego colours red, yellow and blue.

Birthday boy in his Lego shirt. I was so organised!

Even the jumping castle was the right colour.

Pin the spot on the Lego.

Happy Birthday to my big boy. It might not have been the party I wanted to throw for you but for days after you kept thanking me for throwing you an awesome party so that made it all worth while.

Birthday Boy!

And just like that, I'm mother to a seven year old. Thursday was Jack's birthday, right in the middle of the school holidays so party wont be until school goes back. Sorry about that kid.

Birthday boy opening his pressies.

Just a few things to open in the morning. he looked a bit upset after opening clothes and little things, he didn't know the fun that was to come later.

Seven with his first watch. He's been telling us every 2 minutes what the time is, not always correctly.

I sent Dad out to do something and he brought home part one of the birthday surprise. A new bike. He keeps asking if he can ride his BMX, not his bike. Its far to cool to be called a bike. Silly mum.

As part of his birthday present last year he got his very own room and his new bed, but we hadn't gotten much further than that, and it was very boring and empty in there, apart from the puzzle on the floor. So when Dad  brought home the BMX I 'suggested' he go to the BMX track to give it a go. Bring on stage two of the surprise.

Ta-Da! Finally a chair for his desk, a new bedspread, a cute guitar pillow, a bean bag and tiny little rug which fits perfectly. Looks a bit more like a bedroom less like a temporary dump for your stuff.

And the best bit-his very own gate to provide hours of privacy, and also means he cant blame his little brothers for the mess in his room.

A quick knocked up cake the night before, proper cake will be for his party.

After cake we headed off for a few hours at the water park, favourite dinner and a date at the movies with his mumma and James to see The Lorax. Not a bad way to spend your 7tth birthday!

Happy Birthday to my big boy, love you to the moon and back.

James is five!

Wednesday my James turned five.
He is officially a big boy now. I'm only a little sad, he's just started school and now he's five, I miss him on school days, Charlie just doesn't have enough words yet for a whole conversation that doesn't involve cars or diggers.
For the next 6 weeks I am the mum of a 6 year old, a 5 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 week old until Jack turns seven. Seven! That's even crazier than five!

Tuesday nights efforts. Cakes in the fridge and presents wrapped.

Seriously excited to be opening his presents before school.

Birthday boy!

Cakes for school. Worms in dirt, eww!

James got to sit in the birthday chair and call people up to receive their cakes. Special treatment or what?

My cuitie pie at dinner on his birthday.

Food check, drinks check. time to party!

Sour worm ice cubes. eww!

Pass the parcel time!

Buggy cake.

Happy Birthday to you....

Rainbow cake time!

So that's it, after a big busy week we've had a birthday and a party, now its all over and time for me to sleep. Jack and I are already in talks about his birthday, sigh. My little boys are really not so little anymore.
