12 Months!

My gorgeous boy is a one year old. It's still strange to think we made it through the first year. It was a whirlwind that's for sure and I'm really glad I made the time to take monthly pictures and blog about it, reading back through the month by month posts reminded me of stuff I had already forgotten.

He is our most loving boy yet, he demands hugs from everyone, if he's standing he will hug your leg if you aren't paying enough attention to him, but if he's lucky and you put your arms out he will give you big open armed, head on the shoulder kinda hugs accompanied with a little pat on the back. It's quite hilarious to watch and almost always gets an 'awww' from whoever he is hugging. I get the feeling he likes the attention, big time.

I had to bribe him with a milk arrowroot to take these pictures, which is whats hanging out of his mouth. He's walking everywhere and cracked his first tooth just before Christmas. No stopping him now he's started. He's hit toddlerhood full force and is loving it.

When I get the chance over the next few years I'm going to try to keep taking these photos with his quilt it's amazing to see how much he's grown already, my gorgeous big boy!

Big Willie!

For those of you I'm friends with on facebook, you've seen these pictures so nothing to see here, move along thanks.
Right for everyone else William had his first birthday earlier this month, James proclaimed 'He's got a number!' Because before if someone asked how old Will was James would say zero. Which to him was true, he had no number.

Having your birthday so close to Christmas makes for hard present buying, he got so much stuff for Christmas that there wasn't much left for his birthday. He obviously didn't mind a great deal and was quite happy to see clothes when he opened some of his pressies. Happy enough to give it all a little clap.

He spent all day sucking his lips in and drooling everywhere, between then and now he's popped out three more teeth, so no huge surprise.

I'm not sure where he got it from but he oohs and aahhhs at pretty much everything, It is ridiculously cute and  cracks me up how animated he gets about it.

The boys were trying to teach William to put one finger in the air and when you ask him how old he is, he didn't like the look of their game and did what he wanted, which as the youngest he will do forever and get away with, that's the job of youngest right?

Breakfast of champs for a one year old consists of french toast, loads of fresh fruit, cream and a honey drizzle.  Although he didn't get the honey drizzle (no honey til they are two) he still devoured it.

After breakfast a mini catwalk fashion show, new shoes require showing off.

First chocolate cake, just to make sure he is actually my son and he passed with flying colours. Couldn't take his eyes off it even for a quick photo. He wanted to stick those little fingers straight in itt.

He ate up his whole piece and wanted more. Yep he's definitely mine. A swim at the beach and early to bed and his day was done. So that's it, my baby is no longer, now a toddler in the making. His first year was full on and I'm guessing his second year will be as well, but much much more fun!

Happy Birthday baby boy!

I'm not dead!!!

I'm such a bad blogger. My poor blog has been ditched since December the 9th, That's not a month that's closer to two months. Heck. Since then we finished school, had Christmas, saw in the new year, my baby turned one and now its almost time to send my biggest two back to school.
Anyway this is what we've been up to, you know in a six week nutshell. That totally works right?

Girls Night Out requires big hair, red lips and semi drunk selfies.

The boys and I got into the Christmas spirit trying to be Rudolph.

We went overboard with Christmas, well Santa did. Next Christmas one present each. Maybe two.

Nanny Pants came for Christmas and my gorgeous sister and her man. I of course took no photos.
I'd like to point out my 7yr old who is almost as tall as Nan, whats that about.

I drank lots of these.

See that's me drinking it there, with him, in our own apartment for the night, with no kids. Yes we lived it up.

I just want one nice photo of the four of them. Just one. I'm going to pay someone else to do it.

Someone took to my kids head.

11 Months, poor baby doesn't even get his own post, but I did take the photos, that counts as something right?

I bribed him with biscuit. He looks so impressed.

So that's us, six weeks of school holidays have been so full on but so nice to sleep in, stay up late, not have to be anywhere at 9am, and not having to wake up anyone for 3pm pick ups. Amazing how good it's been. There's of course been lots of fights and I have been drinking almost everyday but I will miss them when it's back to me and the two littlest boys but geez my house will be cleaner and I may actually blog occasionally. Not making any promises though.

10 Months

November '12 338

No longer is he a baby.
10 months is double digits, that's it, he's a huge kid now!
These photos are getting harder and harder to take. I think I'm going to have to keep him busy with food from now on.

November '12 331 - Copy

We made it to 10 months breast feeding, I'm super proud of myself. We had a few huge milestones within a few days of each other. He started sleeping in his own room not with us anymore, I stopped feeding and he started sleeping through the night. I didn't know myself!

November '12 346

He's become such a funny little creature and such a big boy, he's so mischievous and cheeky and has learnt how to nap! It may only be once a day but that's a huge difference from where we were six months ago!

My week on Instagram

My week according to Instagram.

I've been ignoring my online world this week and hanging out with my mother in law and spending some 'screen free' time with my hubby so I took all of six photos. We spent last Sunday at the beach with our little nippers. William is standing up more and more and destroying everything he can reach which is pretty funny to watch, the big boys are not so impressed with him. My yummy sweet chilli salmon salad, and the boys pizza. I've stacked on so much weight while I've been feeding so I'm trying to change my eating habits. How cute are my new glasses for my increasingly blindness? I now have glasses and prescription sunglasses so I can see while I'm driving. The boys had lazy dinner last week so to make me feel better about it, I made their dinner into an animal. As you do.

9 Months

One of the first things people say to me when they see William is how happy and content he is. How happy he is to go to other people for a cuddle or play pee-a-boo with. He's a real people person, and as long as I don't do anything crazy like go to the toilet or walk out of his sight he's a pretty happy kid.
I never thought we were going to make it to this stage, it seemed like he was going to be a full on kid forever, but he has started playing with his brothers more and more which is such a sweet thing to watch.

Once he figured out how to crawl and find all the things he shouldn't be playing with he was such a happier kid. Can't blame him really, his brothers do tend to move fast and from his point of view it's all fun stuff!
Can you see his gums? Still no teeth. Not even any sign of teeth. It doesn't seem to bother him, he chews and eats pretty much everything, toast, meat, pears, apple slices, carrot sticks. I'm sure with teeth he'll be a eating machine.

Amazingly we've even had a couple of nights where we slept. Yes that's right, slept. It may have only been til 5am but it's a start. I'm planning on weaning him soon. Maybe next month. I'd like to lose some of the weight I've stacked on while I've been breast feeding. I'm sure my metabolism stops completely when I'm feeding.

He's gotten so big to see how much he's changed see his month by month photos here

8 Months

My gorgeous boy. Crawling has been a gift from the gods and a curse all at the one time.
Now he can follow me around the house, but he also ends up filthy from it. I can now leave him for more than five minutes with some toys or a milk arrowroot. Seriously five minutes with both hands to get something done is amazing and I'm sure my back is thankful.

Still no teeth, he's drooling but no sign of swollen gums so I'm thinking he might be like Jack and wait til he's one to get his teeth. Fine with me.
We sorted out his poo issues, thank heavens, he's such a happier camper now!

He has his Daddy's charm this boy, he has women stopping to talk to him in the supermarket, at school, everywhere, he puts his arms out for a cuddle but only if they are gorgeous things. Typical boy.
Were still breast feeding and I'm so impressed with myself, he's our longest fed baby and the one who sleeps the least. He's such a different kid compared to his brothers, he's going to be the one keeping me on my toes I can see it already.

7 Months

Somehow we've made it to seven months.
Were still not sleeping through the night which apparently means I should be weaning him and teaching him to sleep through the night. I'm pretty sure he has other ideas and for the sake of everyone in the family, and everyone who lives on our street, I spend most nights with him in bed with me.
Poo is still a big issue and were trying everything to fix it, I'm sure that's not helping with the lack of sleep.

He's started really getting into food, he's very interested in what we eat and has been sampling lots of different things, he's very keen on his pumpkin zucchini mash (looks awful to me, but hey) and we have weet bix for breakfast just like his big brother.
Although he's not crawling he's started commando crawling, not for long distances but it is hilarious to watch.

Gummy smiles there's nothing quite like them.

Flying baby!

Still no teeth but he does spend a lot of time chewing on his lips, fingers, fist, dummy, toys, anything he can get to his mouth really.

I love the concentration on his face, oblivious to anything else.

Charlie still thinks William is his toy and should be awake if Charlie is. I don't agree with him but considering how much of a mummas boy Charlie is I'm just glad that he loves him so much and isn't trying to get rid of him, or stuff him in a toy box. Well not yet anyway.

Pooh, not of the bear variety

William has bowel issues. It's making him a seriously cranky boy and as my friend from The Crap Housewives Association told me 'nothing makes you more pooh obsessed than a constipated child' She's so right. It's the first thing I talk to people about lately and I've asked everyone I know for advice.
So now I'm blogging about it, which obviously just makes it worse right?
Well he's taking drops, drinking prune juice and isn't eating anything that doesn't have a high fiber content so I expect some movement soon then my hopefully he won't have a sore belly anymore and he'll cheer up a bit. A cranky almost 7 month old baby isn't fun or anyone let me tell you!
Bring it on!

6 Months

My baby. Six Months. His first year is half over. That is crazy!

I'd love to say he's been the easiest baby ever and he sleeps amazingly but that would be a complete lie.
He is my longest breastfed baby, the one who has slept with us the longest, and the one who took the longest to start solids. I see a pattern emerging, yes?

He's mastered the art of rolling and refuses to lay on his back especially when it's nappy changing time, but no real crawling just yet.
He's up to 8.4kgs and I'm pulling out most of the size zero clothes, I'm ok with that.

I got lots of photos of him looking like this. Sneaky boy as soon as I rolled him over he was away before I could get a photo.

He's difficult and doesn't let me sleep, wants to be in my arms 24/7 resulting in my house being trashed most of the time but look at him, I'll never have such a small baby ever again.

5 Months

How did we get to 5 months already?
This boy really is keeping me on my toes. Were still in no routine and he is defiantly running the show, I know the other three were in a fairly normal routine by 4 months but they were all having formula at every feed where Will is still only a bedtime formula baby. Will is also our only dummy loving baby so it's a whole new ball game. We haven't started solids yet but he has a taste of banana and spat most of it out. Soon enough he'll be eating us out of house and home and spraying everything in food. I'm happy to just pop a boob in is mouth just a little longer.
I thought Charlie was stubborn but I think William is in a league of his own!

Love the giggles that come out of this little face.

I love this picture, trying to catch the sunlight. Life looks so cool through the eyes of a 5 month old.

Unsupervised small people, and why it goes wrong.

On rare occasions during the day my darling William is happy and I will leave him to play on his play mat while I get some washing on, or change sheets, sometimes I even go to the toilet all by myself! It's rare but it does happen.
When I return sometimes he is still happy, sometimes there is a big brother talking to him or showing him something and then there are the days that I return to a screaming baby.
When this happens conversations like this happen.

Me: Why is William crying?
James: I accidentally stepped on his face, but I said sorry!

Me: What happened to Bubba Will?
Charlie: Uh naughty Charlie uh-oh Bubba Will, bang!

That's why the youngest child is spoilt, they get a hard time for such a long time before they learnt to fight back. Heaven help me when he learns to fight back.

Outfit Help

Its no secret I've been a bit of shopping maniac lately. Maniac is probably putting it lightly.
I've bought a few shirts that are breast feeding friendly but I'm just not one hundred percent sure I love how they look. Since I've had all my hair chopped off I feel the need to dress a little more funky and a little more girly. I never knew how much I would miss my girly hair even when it was just a mop on top of my head.
Anyway now I have this shirt and I don't know. Belt or no belt? And is it too short to wear with leggins?
Tell me what you think.

Option one: No belt.

Option Two: Belted.

Now I guess the real question is, does it really matter what I'm wearing apart from this baby? I don't think anyone is paying any attention to what I'm wearing underneath. If you saw this lady walking would you see the baby or would you be thinking 'geez she should really wear a belt with that shirt' No? I didn't think so either.

Rocking the baby Bjorn

Rocking the Baba sling.

Sad faced bubba Will was not impressed I was putting him down and putting him in both carriers but we weren't going anywhere. One day in the near future he'll be too big and heavy for me to carry him and he'll be happy to hang out in the pram with his big brother and I'll be able to wear necklaces again and wear my clothes properly but I guess until then I'll be wearing him instead of my favourite belt.
